Android 10: the list of compatible smartphones and their deployment date 2020

The latest Android update, Android 10, is officially available on several smartphones since September 3, 2019 (and even before in beta). Here is a list of currently compatible devices. This article will be updated regularly with the date of the update of smartphones and tablets as the official announcement of the manufacturers.

Android 10 was formalized on March 13, 2019, almost a year after the first beta of Android P. In the momentum, Google has made available to all interested a first beta version of this version of Android for its Pixels, including those of the first generation. With the beta 2 rolled out on April 3, Google also released a GSI, a generic system image available on any smartphone that natively ships Treble. Although this version is available, it is still unstable and incomplete, and compatible smartphones have therefore not been added to this list.

During the Google, I / O, 15 additional devices, from 12 different brands, received the beta 3 update for Android 10. The official launch took place on September 3, 2019, with deployment on Google Pixel and Essential Phone. Other manufacturers have since announced their update schedule, or even deployed their update on some of their products.

Find below the list of all smartphones and tablets that have received or will officially receive an update to Android 10 . Note that this list will be updated with manufacturers’ announcements, which explains why some devices do not appear.

ASUS

The Asus Zenfone 5z is one of the 15 smartphones to have received Android 10 from its beta phase on May 7, 2019.

In November 2019, Asus started deploying Android 10 on the Zenfone 6 and on the Zenfone 5Z. Beta has also been deployed on the Asus ROG Phone 2.

Asus has not yet communicated regarding its other smartphones (Zenfone 5, etc.). This does not mean that they will not be updated.

ESSENTIAL

Essential, the brand of Andy Rubin (the dad of Android) is like for Android P in the list of manufacturers to offer Android 10 from the beta. The Essential PH-1 is one of 15 smartphones to have received Android 10 from its beta phase on May 7, 2019.

Although the Essential Phone will not have had a long life among merchants, that does not prevent it from always being among the first to receive its updates. Remember that in 2018 it is the only one to have received Android 9 Pie at the same time as the Pixels.

Essential has yet to announce any other smartphones.

GOOGLE

Master of both hardware and software, Google is obviously at the forefront of offering the latest updates on its smartphones. It is therefore not surprising that the Pixels are the first to benefit from it.

What is a little more surprising is that even the first generation is entitled to this update.

HONOR

Linked to Huawei, Honor generally follows the Chinese giant closely when it comes to deploying updates. Some smartphones have therefore already been confirmed to receive Android 10.

Honor has already confirmed that its first flagship of 2019 will be updated to Android 10. If doubt persisted for a while on this deployment, Honor wanted to reassure consumers by assuring them that it would take place.

HUAWEI

Huawei’s interface makes many changes compared to that of Google. Despite this, manufacturer # 2 participated in the beta of Android 10 before experiencing a big hiccup because of the US government.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro was one of 15 smartphones to have received Android 10 in its beta phase on May 7, 2019. However, following the American sanction, the brand had to withdraw its device from the beta program before reinstating it.

LG

LG has been among the manufacturers to offer Android 10 since its beta phase.

NOKIA

Nokia offers all its smartphones with Android One, a version of the system very close to what Google offers, which is supposed to allow faster deployment of updates (security updates at least). It is therefore not surprising to see the manufacturer be among the first to announce smartphones receiving Android 10.

ONEPLUS

Very reactive on updates and already present during the deployment of Android P in beta, it is not surprising to see OnePlus among the first to offer the beta of Android 10.

OnePlus 6T
OnePlus 6T

The OnePlus 6T  is one of the 15 smartphones to have received Android 10 from its beta phase on May 7, 2019, and the final update is being rolled out for him and the OnePlus 6. The OnePlus 5 and 5T will also be eligible, but we will have to wait until the second quarter of 2020.

The OnePlus 7 and 7 Po received the update to Android 10 at the end of September 2019.

Oppo has not yet given a date for the update of its other smartphones. The Oppo R15 Pro, the first to receive Android P in beta, could be one of the first to be affected.

SAMSUNG

Samsung is still one of the last to give its update schedule. The manufacturer generally modifies the interface in-depth and does not wish to advance on promises that it could not keep.

SONY

Like last year, Sony pushed one of its smartphones into the list of devices updated from the beta of Android 10.

TECNO

You certainly do not know this brand and yet: it is among the first to offer Android 10 on one of its smartphones.

The Tecno Spark 3 Pro is one of the 15 smartphones to have received Android 10 from its beta phase on May 7, 2019.

XIAOMI

Xiaomi had already offered Android P on its Mix range from the beta phase in 2018. A year later, the policy remains the same and even extends a little to the Mi range.

Xiaomi Mi 9

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3  5G and Mi 9 received the beta of Android 10 on May 7, 2019.

Xiaomi is generally quite reactive when deploying its updates, but you have to wait for a full MIUI update to take advantage of it. It is not impossible, however, that a “stock” update is offered on the two smartphones that were entitled to the beta.

In June 2019, Xiaomi began to communicate on the deployment of this update and promises its arrival in Q4 2019 on many of its smartphones, including the Mi 9Mi 8Mi Mix 2s and Mi Mix 3. The Redmi Note 7 will receive the update at the start of 2020.
